travel

Inspired by the incredible artwork of Constance Taylor I made this collage on wood

You might remember that postage stamps by Kaisercraft from my christmas card.
The saying on the bird ( I realized not readable on the photo) says:
Sprint towards your dreams. You just might take off and fly.
This is one in a series of collages on wood I have made during the christmas holidays.

Let´s fly into 2013. Have a very happy 2013.
Thank you so much for your kind comments throughout the year.

Hugs, Silke alias artwolf

to live a creative life

The year 2012 is coming to an end. So here´s my last contribution for de stempelwinkel in 2012.

A chaotic mixture of dylusion ink sprays, pan pastels, oil pastels, acrylics, stencils.... and just loving it to play around. Having no fear to do wrong, but to make too much of a chaos I have to clean up.

Details about the stamps can be found as usually here:

altered clock for christmas

Count down is running for christmas - in Germany our special day is the 24th of December, I wish you all happy and joyful X-mas with my altered Ikea clock.

The books and little magazines were really fun to make, you can easily do it yourself with that instruction:

somewhere in Alice´s dreamland

Dreaming and Alice are a perfect fit so I made this canvas with lots of Alice stamps (I love these characters stamps), sizzix dies, whatever I could find -  and of course with dylusions ink.

another dylusion tag

I could not withstand to make another one. What do you think-did she make the right choice?

Time wreath

When I saw the wreath from Kaisercraft I knew immediately what I wanted to do with it and with time as one of the December topics at de stempelwinkel....

Waste your money
and you´re only out of it.
Waste your time
and you have lost a part of your life.

old curiosity shop

another altered/recycled projekt, again with stamps from G457Hampton art. Yes, I do love the motives from the old curiosity shop.

The basis was an old Hydrometer I got from the local recycling centre. I applied tissue paper, acrylics and tried my patience with working all the stamped images into the shadow box. I really learned to appreciate my tweezers.

it´s a man´s world (shadow box)

I recycled this old plastic can (which was rotting at our balcony for some years)  into a little garage. Using silber acrylics, a thin layer of black acrylics and alcohol inks... and here´s the result

holidays are coming

Holidays are coming...

Inspired by Kate Crane I made this X-mas card

I am not such a big fan of the typical christmas cards so I tried to do something without angels and Santa. Having seen these cute little wings at de Stempelwinkel I suddenly knew what to do

music was my first love

Inspired by John Miles´song I made this 6x6 mixed media painting, using stamps from de stempelwinkel

For the background I played around with acrylics, dylusion ink sprays and some left over rubb-ons and hoped for the best.

Want to know the name of the stamp?

And here´s a card I made for the magazine just stamps (resist technic), 2.2012

apart from the quote which is by Tim Holtz all other stamps are by de stempelwinkel as well.

the roofs over the world

They were looking over the roofs of the word, ballons flying in the air and dreaming of all the things that were ahead of them. They were looking forward to see new contries, meet new cultures and new people.

I used a little canvas, stamped some writing stamps on tissue paper, used acrylics and mod podge and an old air ail envenlope.
The couple was stamped on shrink plastic (without shrinking it). I did not like the transparency of the female dress so I gessoed the backside of her dress a little bit.

Here are the first two I have finished - way to go (I guess I have bought much too many -LOL)

it´s sooooo much fun, you really should give it a try!

time heals (art journal page)

Seeing the challange at the 3 Muses ( http://thethreemuseschallenge.blogspot.de/2012/10/three-muses-challenge-timepiece.html) I took out some stamps I had not used for a while and started journaling, and here you see the result

I used my G45 stamps and stamps from de stempelwinkel.

Sailing away...to Halloween

I had some much fun altering that "paper easter egg" into a Halloween boat. Images are all from the octopode factory. The bat wings are a spellbinder die. The mast is a huge bone.
Hope you like it.

get well - mixed media canvas

Now comes the times of colds, fiebre and other illnesses that usually leave us with a red nose like some famous rendeer.
So I used up parts of an expired first aid kit and here we go

I used my distress markers for the first time and I love the result (the bottles were made using them). I only have a few but I really like the result.

So to everyone who is ill outside here, get well - that is for you.

altered book Halloween

this is a book I made a while ago. But with Halloween coming I thought I show you

the front

the back ("painting very shabby in silver and using very thin watery black acrylic as a 2nd coat)

the inside

in detail

It was a lot of fun altering that book and making it into a kind of shrine. It now decorates my entrance with a big skull to keep it open...
